As political activities are still ongoing in the University of Health and allied sciences campus towards the election of new executive officers of the student’s representative council, we bring you and exquisite profile of Master ELIJAH NUAKO who is a presidential candidate for the 2021 presidential race.

Mr. Elijah filed his nomination forms successfully on the 26th June 2021 to lead the UHAS src as the federal president for the 2021/2022 academic year. In his quest to serve and represent the interest of the student, he diligently succeeded in all the electioneering process which was captured in the roadmap by the Electoral commissioner. He hits 90.43% after carefully scrutiny, policy defense, confidence, critical thinking, useful demonstration and policy feasibility by the SRC vetting committee.

BIOGRAPHY

Master Elijah is a native of Dunkwa-on-Offin, the capital of the Upper Denkyira east municipality C/R Ghana. He is a certified nurse under the Christian health association of Ghana (CHAG), a student, a motivational speaker, an activist, advocator, a leader and a devoted Christian. A level 300 Public health nursing student from UHAS.

LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY

He  subscribe to a compassionate leadership philosophy which seeks to address the concerns and challenges face by students and concurrently create an opportunity for all to fully develop and maximize their potentials. He understand that, leadership and responsibilities are inextricable in all domains of life. He places high premium in dedication, commitment, hard work, focus, team work, discipline and integrity in the discharge his duties. He also describe leadership as process but not an event.

  • Operations officer- Dunkwa taxi drivers union Association as a professional driver(2013)

  • Coalition of domestic elections observers (secretary) - 2012 national presidential and parliamentary elections.

  • Worked as a student nurse in numerous general hospitals and two mental hospitals in Ghana.

Some policies his team intend to implement when voted into the office of the SRC president.

The leadership under the Elijah-led administration shall work diligently in achieving the following policies.

  1. Strengthening the SRC financial support and ensure it operationalization within the first semester of assumption of office to help the needy but brilliant students on Hohoe and Ho campus. Potential donors will be consulted to seek for external funding for this project.

  2. We shall establish a functional printing press at the permanent campus.

  3. Moot for preferential treatment at the neighboring hospitals for UHAS students on both campuses.

  4. Strongly push for a flexible mode of payment plan of school fees and a detailed breakdown of Sandwich/top-up school fees.

  5. Encourage sandwich students to have a strong representation of the entire student leadership.

  6. Set up an accommodation committee under the src to curb accommodation problems among students

  7. Collaborate with appropriate quarters to organize SRC week in a grandeur style

  8.  Facilitate for the renovation of the Trafalgar Auditorium and Binka hall at Hohoe

The team aims to institute feasible academic policies, capacity building and student empowerment policies as well as sports, security, transportation policy and long term policies to make uhas a better place.

  UPDATES ON THE GHANA CARD The NIA has opened it's Registration exercise again at the NIA Headquarters at Shiashe in Accra along the 37- Madina road. This second wave of registration is a little different from the previous one which was absolutely free of charge for every citizen. IT IS NO LONGER FREE. There are now three Different Classifications: ●UPDATES  ●REPLACEMENT  ● FRESH REGISTRATION (Citizens & Foreigners).  For Updates, that is if the name on the your card is spelt wrongly, wrong date of birth, wrong height etc. You Will be charged GH c30 for an instant fresh card.  For Replacement; that is your Card is lost or  missing.
