NIA OPENS ADDITIONAL REGISTRATION POINTS FOR GHANA CARD

 NEW REGISTRATION CENTRES FOR GHANA CARD

On the 18th of February,the National Identification Authority (NIA)  informed the general public that it will open additional registration points for the Ghana card from Monday, 21st February 2022 to Tuesday, 31st March 2022 in a communique signed by ABUDU ABDUL-GANIYU,AG HEAD, CORPORATE AFFAIRS

 The points will be at the following locations:

Accra Sports Stadium

El-wak Sports Stadium (Premium Centre), Accra

Kumasi Sports Stadium

Ghana National Fire Service (Regional Office), Cape Coast

Tamale Sports Stadium

These registration points will be opened from 8:00 am to 5: 00 pm, Monday to Friday, and will operate alongside NIA’s 276 District and 16 Regional offices, and the Premium Registration Centre at the Headquarters. This exercise has been instituted in response to growing numbers of Ghanaians thronging NIA’s offices nationwide to register for the Ghana Card, particularly, as the deadline for Sim-Card re-registration approaches. The general public is reminded that house- hold and institutional registration remain open.


NIA further informed the general public that:

Apart from the El-wak Sports Stadium, which will operate as a Premium Center, registration at all the other locations is free.

Persons who have already registered but have not received their cards are to contact their respective district offices to be issued with their cards and should not attempt to register again as this constitutes an offence punishable by law.

  UPDATES ON THE GHANA CARD The NIA has opened it's Registration exercise again at the NIA Headquarters at Shiashe in Accra along the 37- Madina road. This second wave of registration is a little different from the previous one which was absolutely free of charge for every citizen. IT IS NO LONGER FREE. There are now three Different Classifications: ●UPDATES  ●REPLACEMENT  ● FRESH REGISTRATION (Citizens & Foreigners).  For Updates, that is if the name on the your card is spelt wrongly, wrong date of birth, wrong height etc. You Will be charged GH c30 for an instant fresh card.  For Replacement; that is your Card is lost or  missing. You will need to report to a Police Station for a Police Statement Report. which is free; you only have to explain how your card got  missing.  Along with this police report you have to have on hand a Copy of the  Registration Form on which your details were recorded during the initial exercise.
