THE REINSTATEMENT OF MR. OLAYINKA MOHAMMED AWUNI AS THE REGISTRAR FOR LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY The Governor of Lagos State paid a visit to the LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY on 21st January,2022. The Governor,Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on his visit approved the reinstatement of Mr. Olayinka Mohammed Awuni,fnim, as the Registrar of the Lagos State University which takes effect from 1st February,2022. Mr. Olayinka Mohammed Awuni had been directed by the state government to step aside from his position on 21st May 2021, in the wake of the desolution of the former Governing Council, until the appointment of the 9th Substantive Vice Chancelor of the University. The whole process finally ended up in the appointment of Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-bello,mni. On behalf of the entire University Community,the Vice Chancellor congratulated Mr mohammed Amuni on his successful reinstatemen and wished him well in the remaing part of his tenure.   UPDATES ON THE GHANA CARD The NIA has opened it's Registration exercise again at the NIA Headquarters at Shiashe in Accra along the 37- Madina road. This second wave of registration is a little different from the previous one which was absolutely free of charge for every citizen. IT IS NO LONGER FREE.   Vodafone Ghana Foundation Donates To KNUST Food Bank Vodafone Ghana Foundation (VGF) has donated food and assorted items to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Food Bank. The donation was held in a short ceremony at the forecourt of the J. Harper building. The items donated included cartons of milo, milk, soap, tomato paste, indomie noodles, toilet rolls, bags of rice, sugar, shoes, clothes, and other items at an undisclosed amount. THE USAGE OF GHANA CARD TO COMMENCE VERY SOON            In line with the directives from the Government of Ghana on the new modalities for sim registration in the country, all stakeholders are hereby directed to comply with the new and only requirement for sim registration-The GHANA IDENTITY CARD. All  identity cards have been jettisoned by the government except the GHANA CARD [ECOWAS IDENTITY CARD]. As at now, over 15 million Ghanaians have been issued the Ghana Identity Card and still counting so this new modality is not expected to cut down work flow.
